Why not just use Barrage/pet rangers? Seems more effective damage wise and if you want the para buffs, you can go /p on one of the rangers or bring a P/R spear chucking beastmaster (which I find to be more effective than the R/P packmaster).

some reasons :

para for :
- armor
- rez
- 'ranger always hit malus' in this particular zone
- shoot spam, hero are good at this
- shoot <-> "mana gain"
- dont care doing a bit more dmg with barrage, frag weap own almost everything anyway... but using volley & freeing 3 Elites slot instead, is good, since lot of elite para are pretty nice and benefit whole party
- when i played gwg& hoh, most of time builds used 3 paras backbone or so in tons of build, it's pretty strong. It's more about defensiv skills & party buff than pure damages
- shoot are strong, can't be disenchanted 50% party block un-debuffable is - at my eyes- 1000% better than a "pet poison-skill dmgs" or "single shot 30 bow attack"

(ranger for pet / interrupt)
(bow instead of javs for range - less aggro - and volley is nice)

basicly this kind of stuff..

added a ~1st para team version vid .. many pet dying at fights, thus fast kills & progression

Ive edit post 1 with all infos

Wouldnt a MM for this team, exploiting the pets to make minions. Be pretty much an obvious choice?

I believe they changed pets to not leave corpses awhile ago.

I was just tooling around in NM with a barrager/pet team outside of Gadd's Encampment and it looked pretty fun. The main issue were the ranger heroes running out of energy if you gave them anything other than straight ranger skills (that took advantage of expertise). It seemed like the paragons did a lot better energy-wise.

If you are running pets, minions and spirits, it is practically mad to not be running a copy of blood bond somewhere, it will be of a lot more use than a healer. Dwayna's sorrow would also be a good idea.

In fact, a perfect way to fit all of those skills on your build would be to include this hero:

Unlike Dwayna's sorrow, Avatar of Dwayna actually heals allies, and that with blood bond and order of pain would be very useful.

I'm experimenting with this team and even in NM play (like the Ring of Fire missions), I'm facing a lot of deaths and not a ton of damage. The non-pet stuff is pretty much doing the work with the pets in there to look interesting.

Ultimately we are still hamstrung by the very poor pet AI and the heroes inability to properly command them (many times I have to manually rez their pet for them even after a battle).

I re-played the same mission and this time just dropped the pets and bow attacks altogether but more or less sticking with the same combination of spirits and heroes. It was actually much easier WITHOUT the pets.
